Our mission: we bring modern technologies, transparency practices, citizen participation and lessons of collaboration from Wikinomics to real world (mostly in Russia and in ex-USSR countries): for development cities, civil societies, local communities. We help citizen projects based on open data, civil initiatives, urban projects, NGOs, government organizations that share modern transparent-based view on governance and any others who can bring social goods on the new level.

Citizen participation and volunteering is the foundations of our organization. We want to make our cities better and more liveable for people!

Our organization has been founded in 2009 as non-profit non-government and non-partisan organization. We started from building local technology entrepreneurship (startups) ecosystem. Our first event NevaCamp brought together more than 250 people from 10 countries and was first barcamp in St.Petersburg and key startup event of the year in Internet industry. Also we organized first startup competition StartupVision. Since we organized a lot of different events that helped to build local startup ecosystem (including LegalCamp, Gamification Sumit, CodeCamp, Startup Crash Test and etc.). In our opinion it was one of the step for building success local startup community in St.Petersburg.

In 2010 we organized first Russian CityCamp that was about city development with internet technologies citizen participation. Also we organized citycamps in Ulyanovsk and Perm.

Since 2012 we started annual events for promoting Open Data in Russia – Open Data Hackathons. Since this time we decided to focus on this areas more than just regular tech entrepreneurship: open data and city/society development. This is our niche, this is our vision. Also we created several projects (Citizen Budget, Liveable City, etc.), some researches and initiatives (see details in Projects menu)

In 2015 we will launch our new project – Smart Hub – co-working, event space and accelerator program for civil, urban and based on ope data projects.
